Social Networking & Media
TT2311: Social Networking & Media
Since 2013, I have only Tweeted just over 400 times. Typically, I consume the information and don't Tweet often but I retweet and like. I have also used it during conferences. Honestly, I am not a big fan, but I always want to support the presenters. I haven't used it for instructional purposes in my classroom. I could see Twitter being an opportunity for courses that are incorporating real word scenarios. It exposes students to different perspectives, experiences, and resources. Also, it provides an opportunity to communicate with professionals that might not typically exist for students. If I chose to use Twitter, I would want to ensure I included information about digital literacy. Perhaps, partner with someone from the library before incorporating Twitter or another social media platform.
During this course, I retweeted two posts. One was in celebration of a colleague who was recognized for meeting Quality Matter Standards in an online course. The second was sharing data related to open educational resources.
